First, call 911. El Faro is a supplement, not a replacement. It does not replace 911, civil protection, or your cell phone. Use the network only as a backup when there's no signal, no power, or 911 doesn't answer.

Con una radio MeshtasticWith a Meshtastic radio

Ponte en el canal «Chapala».
Escribe un mensaje claro al canal pidiendo ayuda (ver qué incluir, abajo).
Para dejar un aviso que quede guardado, envía bbspost y sigue las indicaciones.
Repite cada pocos minutos: los mensajes saltan de nodo en nodo y pueden tardar.

Get on the "Chapala" channel.
Send a clear message to the channel asking for help (see what to include, below).
To leave a notice that stays saved, send bbspost and follow the prompts.
Repeat every few minutes: messages hop node to node and can take time.

Abre Sideband conectada al enlace de El Faro (hub TCP, abajo).
Escribe a la comunidad o abre el Chapala Lakeside BBS y publica tu aviso.
Si configuraste un nodo de propagación, tu mensaje se guarda y se entrega aunque pierdas conexión.

Open Sideband connected to the El Faro link (TCP hub, below).
Message the community or open the Chapala Lakeside BBS and post your notice.
If you set a propagation node, your message is stored and delivered even if you lose connection.

Qué incluir en tu mensaje What to include in your message

Pueblo: di el nombre del pueblo (Chapala o San Antonio Tlayacapan) y una referencia conocida (una plaza, una iglesia, un negocio). No hace falta dar coordenadas.
Qué pasa: describe la situación en pocas palabras (incendio, persona herida, extraviada, etc.).
Qué necesitas: di claramente qué ayuda pides.
Cuántos y quién: número de personas y si hay heridos, niños o adultos mayores.
Cómo contactarte: un nombre para mostrar o cómo responderte por la red.

Town: say the town's name (Chapala or San Antonio Tlayacapan) and a known landmark (a plaza, a church, a business). You don't need to give coordinates.
What's happening: describe the situation in a few words (fire, injured person, lost, etc.).
What you need: state clearly what help you're asking for.
How many and who: number of people and whether there are injuries, children, or elderly.
How to reach you: a display name or how to reply to you over the network.
